VenuRate is operated by Estranho ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service:

• Email address — used for account creation and password resets.
• Display name — the name shown publicly on your reviews and contributions.
• Club / team name — optionally provided to identify your sports affiliation.
• User-generated content — venue submissions, reviews, ratings, and photos you voluntarily upload.
• Basic usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes only.

We do not collect payment information, precise location data stored on our servers, or any data from device sensors.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your contributions (reviews, photos, venue submissions) on the Service.
• To send transactional emails (password resets, account notices). We do not send marketing emails.
• To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

3. We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Period.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party infrastructure providers to operate the Service. Each processes data only as necessary to deliver their services:

• Vercel — hosts the web application. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Railway — hosts the API server and database. Railway Privacy Policy
• Resend — used to send transactional emails. Resend Privacy Policy

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms.

5. Cookies and Tracking

VenuRate uses only a single functional cookie to maintain your login session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function and is not used for tracking or advertising. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

VenuRate is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. Parents, guardians, coaches, and sports organization administrators may use the Service on behalf of youth sports programs.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at VenuRate@estranho.net and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

We do not collect information about minors participating in events listed on the Service. Venue listings and meet schedules are publicly available information about places and events, not about individual children.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information (email, display name, club/team name) within 30 days. Public contributions (reviews, venue submissions) may be anonymized and retained rather than deleted to preserve the integrity of the platform.

8. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Access or update your account information via the Settings page.
• Request a copy of your personal data.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
